From the announcement:
August is here! And with it, we have a quartet of new releases available for you. Hitting store shelves today is Zombicide: Invader, Foodies, and the Free Folk and Night’s Watch Heroes 1 boxes for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game. While we’re here at Gen Con (booth #417. Stop by if you’re here!), you can head down to your LGS and pick up these great, new releases. Let’s take a little lookat each.
In Zombicide: Invader, humanity has become a star-faring race. With ships plying the space-lanes, a new source of energy needed to be found. It seemed that the solution had been found in Xenium, a substance mined from the planet PK-L7. Corporations set up mining facilities on the planet and things went fine… at first. Then, all of a sudden, the aliens that had peacefully cohabitated with the colonies turned into ravenous monsters. Now it’s a fight for survival in the cold depths of space. Zombicide: Invader is the new stand-alone sci-fi version of the popular board game. Each player takes on the role of a Survivor on the planet PK-L7, with everyone having to work together to complete objectives so they can fight back against the aliens and hopefully survive to escape the planet.
In Foodies, players become the head of their own food court. Wanting to feed the masses, they add food stalls from different culinary traditions from all around the world. Each one grants a special bonus when the people start flocking to it. Create great fusion designs and hire world-renown chefs to increase your popularity even more. In the end, only one food court will be the most popular eatery in town. Anyone else ready for lunch?
So, that’s a pair of great board games, but we also have some amazing miniatures for you as well with two new expansion boxes available for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game.
The Free Folk are made up of many different clans and tribes, each with their own leaders and notable members. The Free Folk Heroes Box 1 brings many of them to the tabletop. It gives Free Folk players a whole host of new attachments, non-combat units, and even new Commanders to lead their forces, such as Styr, The Weeper, Harma, and Rattleshirt. Players now have a wealth of new options open to them.
The same can be said for Night’s Watch players, as they also get a Heroes Box 1. While the Brotherhood of the Night’s Watch is meant to be a single fighting body against the horrors beyond the Wall, there are plenty of individual characters that make it up, each with their own thoughts on how the Night’s Watch should operate. Such as Othell, who focuses on the faction’s machines of war. Or Allister Thorne wholikes to make enemy units suffer and make the Night’s Watch look even more elite than they already are. Night’s Watch armies are poised to see a whole new set of variation when players start integrating these new figures.
So, that’s what we’ve got for you this time. These new releases are available now. Just stop by your LGS and pick them up.
