Creatures of the (Game) Night Invade in HORRIFIED: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS

There’s no better time for some monstrous mayhem than game night! Your favorite classic monsters from Universal Studios are here, from Dracula to the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and it’s up to you and your squad to stop them. Do you and your friends seated around the table have what it takes to stop the monsters rampaging through your town? Find out in Horrified: Universal Monsters from Ravensburger.

These are the monsters that defined a genre. Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon have joined forces to create a nearly unstoppable team of monstrous (and sadly misunderstood) creatures. Two to five players ages ten and up will face off against these bold baddies in a strategy game that combines the magic of old movies with the fun of cooperative gaming. Horrified is designed with varying levels of difficulty in mind, so even the youngest or most inexperienced board game players will get the hang of the game quickly.

Each monster has its own game board that gives details on its plan of attack, and you’ll need to devise a unique strategy for taking each monster on. The game boards themselves are almost distracting in how colorful and brightly designed they are, but don’t miss that vital info you’ll need to complete your goals and stop the creature.

Even more eye-catching are the included high-quality sculpted miniatures, one for each monster. Not only will you get hours of fun family time playing Horrified together, be sure to set aside some time to paint these miniatures together. Who knows what conversations you’ll have when you paint together as a family? (We imagine you’ll be answering a lot of questions about the creatures from curious kids.)

Speaking of painting, keep an eye out this fall for the creatures of Horrified making their way to G&S Painters Guild! We’ll be putting paint to the mini monsters and giving you tips for painting your own that you won’t find anywhere else.

Whether you’re new to gaming or a veteran of game night, or a classic movie buff (who will find lots of Easter eggs and references scattered in the game just for you) or someone who’s never seen a vintage Universal Studios monster movie, there’s something for you to love in Horrified: Universal Monsters. Find it on the shelves at Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, and your favorite local game stores on August 1 at a suggested price of $34.99.
